The industry-exclusive TrenchSense system helps eliminate engine stalls and stops when utility trenchers encounter difficult digging conditions. This feature helps save wear and tear on both the trencher digging chain and tractor engine by preventing unnecessary stopping and engine load.

The patent-pending TrenchSense system will be a standard feature on the new Vermeer RTX550 utility trencher and an upgrade for existing Vermeer RTX750 utility trencher units.

“It is impossible for a human to react as quickly as the TrenchSense system,” the company states. “On tractors not equipped with this system, if the engine rpm suddenly drops or the trencher chain stops, the operator would have to manually stop the machine, back up, reverse the chain and go forward again. The TrenchSense system does it automatically. This innovative system helps to save wear and tear on both the chain and the tractor’s engine.”
